Meet the speakers of the latest Design Forum in Beijing at CHAO. We had the great pleasure to welcome Leonard Lee, Ed Ng, Ricky Wong and Maurice Li to the stage for a lively discussion on “Exquisite Revolution in Design”.Beijing Kohler Design Forum 2017
Leonard Lee at Kohler Design Forum BeijingLeonard Lee who was recently appointed as Regional Managing Director and Regional Creative Officer Asia Pacific for Wilson Associates focuses his work on hospitality design. Previously he did award-winning work for Conrad, Ritz-Carlton, Shangri-La, Sofitel, Kempinski, and Autograph.

In 2007, he received the Gold Key Award for his project Kempinski Dubai and in 2008 he was awarded the “Wave of the Future Award”. This award is given to up-and-coming talents and was previously received by designers such as Phillipe Starck. Now, Leonard leads the teams in China and Asia Pacific to continue their creative and innovative work.

Ed Ng at Kohler Design Forum BeijingEd Ng co-founded AB Concept in 1999 with his partner Terence Ngan in Hong Kong. AB Concept is an innovative design firm in Hong Kong focusing on F&B, luxury residential and hospitality. The firm creates and tells stories for hoteliers, luxury developers, and restaurant operations. Some of the projects they worked on include W Hotels Bali and Beijing, restaurants in the Four Seasons Hotels Shanghai and London. Ed sees himself as a cultural translator between East and West. He is also supporting the development of young design talents, especially in China.

Ricky Wong at Kohler Design Forum BeijingRicky Wong studied interior design at Hong Kong Polytech University and architecture at the University of Wisconsin, USA, and founded his firm Ricky Wong Design Ltd. in 1996 in Hong Kong and opened a branch in Shenzhen, China, in 1996. Early on he started to focus on mainland China as his priority market. His work is heavily influenced by his travels and his designs combine and fuse Chinese and Western cultural elements.
His team works on residential designs integrating modern technologies, commercial spaces, hotels, clubhouses, restaurants and more. Recently Ricky launched his own furniture brand. He was a recipient of the Gold Key Award, APIDA Awards, Asian most influential design Award. In October 2017, Ricky Wong Designs received the Silver A’Design Award for Lu Neng Mansion Club House in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design Award category.

Maurice Li at Kohler Design Forum BeijingMaurice Li is the co-founder and brand director at CHAO that is the flagship project in Sanlitun, Beijing. The Design Forum was held at CHAO which was the perfect environment to discuss “Exquisite Revolution in Design” and the restoration of old buildings. Maurice and his team focus on forward-thinking clientele and the creative community and love to share and build things.
