Walsh Street – in the 60s people were in awe when this address was uttered. It was a rare occurrence to be invited to the house that Robin Boyd designed for his family in 1957 and that has since won a lot of recognition. It is said to be his most acclaimed work. But even to this day, the house inspires architects and designers in Australia. For this reason, we invited our guests to this property in Melbourne that now houses the Boyd Foundation and where sparks of design insights ignite and the spirit of betterment for our society lives on.
Larry Yuen, President – K&B Group, focused his presentation on our diverse stewardship programs around the world and the Asia Pacific Bold. Art. program which was launched with 13 new young artists last December in Shanghai. The design world in Melbourne embraced the essence of the international modern movement in Australian architecture at Walsh Street in South Yarra. Boyd, who had met an untimely death, was a true visionary of urban design, a writer, teacher and social commentator who still has a strong influence on modernist Australian architecture.More than 25 guests and our team truly felt the flow of creativity in this special place.
