Over the last 10 years, more than one trillion gallons of water was saved due to water conservation initiatives in the United States.
But that is not enough! According to the recent “Saturation Study of Non-efficient Water Closets in Key States” conducted by Alliance of Water Efficiency (AWE) and Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) there are still an estimated 13 million non-efficient toilets in Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas. These toilets use more than 1.6 gallons of water per flush.
Although they represent 21% of all toilets in these States, toilet flushing remains the largest indoor use of water and reducing it is an important step in holistically approaching water management.US Water Alliance, a national organization that focuses on water challenges since 2011, works on strategies, policies and practices for safer water in the United States. Once a year, during the One Water Summit which took place in New Orleans in June 2017, the organization recognizes public, private and non-profit organizations in five categories for their water-saving efforts.
Since the launch of the EPA WaterSense label in 2006, more than 16,000 products have received it. Out of these, we created 700 various models of toilets, faucets, showerheads, and urinals including products such as Veil, Sans Souci, San Raphael, Shift, Purist, Karbon and more. Essentially we saved around 140 billion gallons of water. This year we were again awarded the US Water Alliance Award for our water-efficient products. It is the nineth consecutive year that we are proud winners and are rewarded for our leadership efforts and exceeding industry standards in reducing waste water and energy required to treat water.
