The annual awards of ArchiDesign Club recognize the work and commitment of the French architects and designers community. The 2018 awards have been organized for the fifth time on 20 March by ADC and the magazine muuuz, d’a, and v2com newswire.
The winners are rewarded for their remarkable projects that were completed between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2017 and their investment in French architecture. The submissions from young, emerging talents to established firms consisted of the projects varying in size, budgets, contexts, and means. The focus of these awards is on the collaboration between the different parties e.g. architects, project managers, developers, companies, and industries.
The prizes were given in two main categories: Prix architecture and Prix speciaux. Within these two sections, there were 11 categories including new and renovated buildings, culture, equipment, education, living space, mixed-use, sports, and health, innovative materials, architecture and landscape, and atypical projects.
The Muuuz magazine editors and five juries that were hand-picked for their expertise in specific areas shortlisted three to six projects in each category. Subsequently, the juries and the readers of the magazines deliberated over the projects by adding comments and ‘likes’. The decision makers comprised architects, landscape architects, urban planners, interior architects, designers, decorators, engineers, developers, and companies.
Finally, the big day arrived when 50% of the votes from the magazine’s editorial team and 50% of the votes from the public were combined to determine the winners. With a gala dinner at the renowned Grand Hotel Intercontinental Opera in Paris, France, the winners were celebrated with fanfare, glitters, and sparks.
