For the 7th time, the high-end international art fair ArtGenève (Art Geneve) in the Geneva lake region in Switzerland welcomes guests, visitors, and art-buyers from all over the world. From 1 to 4 February 2018 at Palexpo and around the Calvinist city and lake, the show displays decorative art, historic and contemporary design, and tribal art. The offering has been extended thanks to the collaboration with the Pavilion of Arts and Design (PAD), London and Paris.While the art fair is mainly comprised of art galleries, public and private collections, and independent spaces, there are some institutional representatives present and in partnership with the City of Geneva participating galleries have curated a sculpture exhibition in the park Quai Wilson that runs from 30 January to 31 March 2018.The institutional participants are the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Whitechapel Gallery from London, private Swiss collections, the MAMCO, the Centre d’Art Contemporain, the Centre d’édition contemporaine, and the Centre de la Photographie Genève.During the exhibition, three acclaimed prizes are given.
The solo show award artgenève – F.P. Journe is given to the best personal exhibition set-up on 20 square feet next to participating gallery spaces.
The meta young art critics’ award recognizes art critics every four years for their contribution to the art world.
The Prix Mobilière has been awarded annually since 1996 by the Swiss insurance company Mobiliar. It celebrates young and up-coming Swiss artists.
The art show is a multi-disciplinary event taking place in and outdoors touching all the senses.
