Award-winning pottery artist from Singapore, Thomas Cheong turns clay into conceptual arts.
Thomas Cheong obtained his Diploma in Fine Art (Ceramics) with Distinctions at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2002. He received his Master of Arts in Fine Art (Ceramics) in 2014 from Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan, China.
As an artist, Thomas has participated in many international exchanges and residency programs including the International Ceramic Mentoring Camp in Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, Korea, Sexse – Southeast Asia Exchange in Medelta, Canada, and Artic-Clay residency program in Posio, Finland. In 2012, he was invited to work for six months as a guest exchange artist at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri, USA. He has also exhibited internationally and regionally and his work has been accepted into the collections of several public museums and corporate companies.
He is a recipient of Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship in 2000 and has received a silver award in a ceramics competition organized by Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan, China.
