The first display of the new Bold. Art. artists round closed on January 3, 2017, at Raffles City shopping mall in central Shanghai.
This new exhibition features 13 artists from Asia and the Middle East and their unique art pieces especially created for the Bold. Art. program with the same materials e.g. ceramic, metal, wood etc. that are used in the Kohler factories around the world.
The 13 art pieces were prominently shown in the central square at Raffles City where visitors, shoppers, trendsetters, and urbanites had a chance to admire the exceptional work of these young and upcoming artists. Da Chuan, the artist from China, was present during the opening event on December 23, 2016, giving more insights about his sculpture, work and ideas about multiculturalism in general.
As diverse as the cultures in Asia and the Middle East are the individual interpretations of the exhibition theme ‘Multiculturalism’. The artists demonstrated through their sculptures their understanding of many cultures living together in their cities and countries and the challenges and opportunities that arise.
The Bold. Art. exhibition is a traveling show and will be touring Asia and the Middle East over the next two years. The next destination will be announced soon.
