In late December, we are launching the new Bold. Art. program in Shanghai. The exhibition will be open to the public from December 23, 2016, to January 3, 2017.
13 young artists under 30 years of age from Asia Pacific and the Middle East interpret the impact of multiculturalism in their countries.
Multiculturalism seen through their eyes depict the digitally connected world where people migrate, move around and mingle with each other and the challenges of experiencing other cultures. In some countries many nationalities have lived together for several generations, in others the locals and foreigners keep politely apart.
Is the growing mobility, Global Nomads, and foreign population challenging this delicate balance or are we just a global village?
These artists who come from Australia, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates express their views, observations and feelings about multicultural hot pot through their art work.
The unique pieces of art were especially curated for this exhibition to reflect multicultural trends that influence our daily lives and society. In our briefing, we encouraged the artists to use materials that we use in our factories.
Shanghai is the first destination of the traveling exhibition that will tour around Asia and the Middle East for the next two years. We will keep you informed about the next location.
