Beirut is a thriving hotspot for shopping, socializing and sightseeing. Despite the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990), the city has been rebuilt several times and redeveloped with the modern architecture of shopping malls, clubs, luxury high-rise apartment and large-scale art museums like the upcoming Beirut Museum of Art. It’s truly the “Paris of the Middle East”.
As part of the Lebanon urban reconstruction projects, the Lebanese government allowed private companies to build new residential buildings such as the Beirut Terraces, a famous residential building that opened in 2017. It meets the growing demand for luxurious and elegant lifestyle spaces in the center of the city and addresses potential homeowners’ desire for more living room.
Such a place is this dazzling 260 square meters “Cherished Glow” apartment with 12 rooms for a family of four, located in a serene residential area on the famous beach ‘Ramlet Al bayda’ facing the Mediterranean Sea.
Lebanese-based interior designer Wael Farran, founder and lead designer of Wael Farran Studio, who successfully designed residential and commercial projects around the world, completely renovated the existing Cherished Glow apartment to fully embrace the core of the luxurious accommodation.
The concept of this interior design project was inspired by the natural beauty of Beirut. By combining heritage and contemporary style, the designer included an array of details that creates a homely feeling and adds personal touches to each room of this spacious apartment.
At the entrance, a private elevator area greets guests with one-of-a-kind calligraphy art and design by artist Ghaleb Hawila to envelope them immediately with the Arabian heritage.
Once stepped inside, the French oak croisé veneer entrance walls integrated with silver leaf and white patina combined with the modern elements of leveled lighting create a warm welcoming feeling that makes everyone feel at ‘home.’
The living room is a large space designed as a reception saloon, dining area, play zone for kids, and a peaceful reading book area. This space is fitted with custom-made furniture crafted by seasoned local artisans using exquisite fabrics from Romo, Pierre Frey, Mark Alexander, Dedar and Sahco Hesslein.
The designer also provided privacy and functional comfort by adding electric mobile wood panels that close and separate the family living room from the main living area for more intimate gatherings.
The white-in-white cabinets and Cava Bianco Statuario Venato marble wood glass walls paired perfectly to create a clean and clear space for cooking and enjoying daily family meals.
The dining area at Cherished Glow is set with the custom-made Paperweight dining table and complemented with a display and storage Ascension cabinet from Formitable, Wael Farran’s own exclusive custom-made furniture line. The Studio Italia’s modern chandelier above the glass surface of the table provides ambient light while making a compelling design statement with the stainless-steel stripe wall behind.
The stripes of LED lights on the walls and ceilings with the high-end lighting system are customer designed and add a unique luminous effect in the hallway, master bedroom, and kitchen.
The master bedroom, the boy’s and the girl’s bedrooms were also created with the matching cupboard and unique design details in the room to fit with the clients’ lifestyle.
