The city of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand will transform into a bustling design hub during 6 to 10 December 2017. As newer Design Week on the circuit, the organizers of the Chiang Mai Design Week including the Thailand Creative & Design Center (Chiang Mai branch) (TCDC) aim to organize this event every two years. However, it was such a success in 2016 that the new version is already back and will be even better.Under the theme ‘Crafted Life’ designers, architects, artisans, artists, craftsmen, shop owners, students, and just in general design-interested people get together to celebrate the local and international creative industry. An action-packed program promises lots of interactions with fellow creative minds to exchange latest news and innovations, learn about trends, marvel at installations, collaborate, and network. In this year’s Design Week 150 businesses participate to share their knowledge, revive traditions and learn new techniques and things. During the panel discussions at the TCDC, at least 30 speakers talk about the vast variety in the creative field touching upon topics such as typography, colors, ceramics, lacquer, and other artisan arts, waste management, food, and tea and architecture.Workshops, city tours, music and art events around the city give the visitors a fully immersive experience of not only the local but also the international creative culture and a chance to rejoice in modern living.Apart from the vibrant design and art scene, Chiang Mai is a great vacation spot in Southeast Asia with temperate climates and a slush of outdoor activities available for relaxing and re-energizing.
