The Dream in Kohler South Africa design competition was running since last month. For the finally selection, 22 entries of designs, renderings, and hard work were submitted and displayed at the Kohler Gallery in Johannesburg. The five judges of the Dream in Kohler South Africa competition took time out of their busy schedules to browse the gallery and choose the best entries. TV personality Maps Maponyane, Greg Scott, Jason Wiggin, lifestyle blogger Marcia Margolius, and interior designer Nthabi Taukobong, who recently talked to us about Global Design Trends, toured the gallery incessantly to determine which ones of all of these creative submissions would make the final cut. It was not easy. They are all outstanding and speak of a generation of very creative and innovative designers and architects who are eager to design bathrooms. But the judges had no choice but to make a choice. After some deliberation they agreed on the three projects that stood out to them the most for this visionary design competition:
Michael Dennett with ‘The Cube’
Miguel da Silva
Wilh van der Merwe ‘Natural Nature’
More details about their work is displayed here.
Now the judges work is done but your work begins. It is up to the public to vote for the best design. You can choose the best design and do so by going to the website and clicking on your favorite. Then, let’s keep fingers crossed until 7 June 2018 when the winner will be revealed.
If you don’t want to do this virtually and rather tell our associates in person which submission you liked the best, visit the Kohler booth at Design Joburg between 25 and 27 May 2018.
In any case, all of the submitted work is award-worthy. It is great to see so much enthusiasm for future bathroom designs. And we will be giddy to wait for the results.
