In November 2017, we inaugurated the first Kohler women’s bathroom at Gimpo Airport in South Korea in collaboration with Korea Airports Corporation. The showroom bathroom located on the third floor of the domestic terminal is designed with a minimalist concept in mind. It offers an immersive experience with our brand, history, and company. The bathroom itself is outfitted with premium sinks, automatic sensor faucets, and ergonomically designed smart bidets. In addition, a display of Artist Editions sinks outside of the bathroom showcase our commitment and passion for the arts. For the design concept, we partnered with Ewai Architects, a Korean hospitality design firm, and Barro Ceramic, one of our distributors. The Porcelanosa tiles in the bathroom are a perfect complement to the premium products in the space.Gentlemen, don’t be sad: a men’s bathroom will be opened in the first half of 2018.
Gimpo International Airport is located West of Seoul’s city center. Its first runway was built in 1939 by Japanese troops. Until 2001, it was the main airport in South Korea. Gimpo is now the third largest airport in Korea with about 23 million arrivals per year. Additionally to travel services, the airport also offers entertainment and shopping opportunities at ‘Sky City’ where our latest women’s bathroom is located.
