The 7th edition of India Design ID was an action-packed event in New Delhi, India, in February 2019. The trade show that brought together the best in Indian architecture and design and coupled it with the fascinating ID Symposium, and many other events. Kohler India was not only a partner at the ID Symposium but collaborated with Elle Décor India on a unique project exhibition of India’s top creatives in fashion and design.
While the 100 square meter trade show booth design by Visarg Studio drew a lot of attention on the show floor, the designer displays were equally attractive. The colorful booth façade was a great backdrop for the launch of KALLISTA products in the Indian market and introducing the latest KOHLER products. Among the most popular products were Components faucet collection, Ombré vibrant PVD finishes, Artist Editions sinks Briolette, Dutchmaster Midnight Floral, Kensho, and Shagreen.
Visitors only pulled away from the booth to attend the ID Symposium which was presented in partnership with Kohler India. Salil Sadanandan, president Kohler brand South Asia, Middle East, and Sub Saharan Africa, gave the opening remarks and had the great pleasure to introduce two speakers from our own ranks: Theresa Millard, head of the Kohler WasteLAB, and Bikram Mittra, Head of Industrial Design of Kohler India, who ran a workshop and a panel discussion respectively. The ID Symposium was also an excellent opportunity to launch the KBDA India Golden Book of Design Excellence that documents India’s top creative contemporary architecture based on the KBDA competition that was held in November 2018.
As the premier design event in New Delhi, the India Design ID 2019 was also an outstanding platform to give room to India’s top creative talents in fashion and design. In collaboration with Elle Décor India, five creative minds designed table designs inspired by Kohler’s Artist Editions sinks.
The decors from fashion designers Ashdeen Lilaowala, Pooja Singhal, and Nida Mahmood, and interior designers Amrita Guha and Joya Nandurdikar, and accessory designer Radhika Gupta were prominent, beautiful displays at the entrance of the ID Symposium. Together with their inspirations Artist Editions’ sinks Derring, Shagreen, Marrakesh, and Mille Fleurs, the tables were an integral part of the art gallery and showcase.
As in previous years, the India Design ID was a definite happening for design and home décor fans with a strong attendance of architects, designers, fashion and design aficionados, and some of India’s top creative community members.
