We invited Alexis Mabille to design his ideal bathroom for our sister brand Jacob Delafon. During Maison & Objet in early September 2017, in Paris, France, we were ready to unveil his creation.
Parisian couturier Alexis Mabille’s La Collection consisting of a bath, shower, wash station, accessories, and dedicated brassware represents elegance, femininity and sensuality.
The combination of these key elements and superior material as well as Jacob Delafon’s historical expertise resulted in a contemporary touch and feel people of all walks of life, familiar or unfamiliar with the design world, can relay to.
The high ‘Paris Pink’ walls, hollowed out with taupe grey alcoves, reflect a sophisticated neo-classical style.
Alexis Mabille was inspired by women’s curves. The soft shapes and the clean lines mirrored in La Collection mirror the curves and contrast them at the same time. La Collection exults a strong sensual quality. Additionally, the designer was influenced by the Greco-Roman architectural style and the work of Dorothy Draper, an American interior designer famous for her ‘savoir-vivre’ decoration of luxury hotels.
