KBIS 2019: more networking, smarter technologies

As every year, we are back at KBIS 2019 with lots of exciting news and novelties. The mega trade show in the kitchen and bath sector is expecting 80,000 visitors at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The show is collocated with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and runs from February 19 to 21, 2019. This creates an interactive platform for industry professionals, architects, designers, developers and more to load up on the latest trends.

With new spaces such as Salon by KBIS, the organizers will encourage networking in the open area lounge and encourage visitors updating their industry knowledge with interesting educational programs.

The Lightovation Lounge is a two-day lighting-focused program conducted by lighting designer Randall Whitehead, IALD aka ‘The Lighting Doctor’ and Joe Rey-Barreau, director of education for American Lighting Association (AIA) and professor at the University of Kentucky, aka ‘The Lighting Professor’. They provide twenty-minute long educational sessions on lighting topics – not unimportant for your kitchen and bathroom designs – and host office hours for individual questions.

In the same space, trade show attendees can witness, and experience applied virtual reality.

The Dallas Market Center Lightovation event, the biggest residential lighting show in North America, is brought right into the Lightovation Lounge through the new technology.

Catching up with Cindy Allen, Interior Design and host of the KOHLER Design Affair 2018, shouldn’t be too difficult during KBIS 2019, either. She is the keynote speaker on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 1.30 p.m. After her presentation, she is moderating a panel with well-known designers Laura Bohn, Adam Rolston, and Alison Damonte and brings the Interior Design Homes: Best of Kitchen and Bath magazine to life.

Talking about modernism at KBIS 2019 are Jaime Derringer of Design Milk and Veronika Miller of Modenus Media at the first-ever modernism talk and mixer sponsored by us.  Panelists Beth Dotolo and Carolina Gentry of Pulp Design Studios and NKBA Insiders Vanessa Deleon of VD Associates and designer Jennifer Bertrand who also hosts HGTV chat about the transition from traditional to modern and from minimalism to modern maximalism.
