The first Kohler Design Conclave opened its doors to more than 125 architects and designers at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 10 November 2017. Katmandu, Nepal, skylineNepal is the largest Himalayan state in Asia and Kathmandu, its capital at an average height of 1,400 meters above sea level, served a long time as the stop-over for travelers between India and Tibet.Guru with Umbrella, NepalThe influx of these travelers influenced the arts and architectural styles that can still be seen today. Although during the 2015 7.8 magnitude earthquake destroyed parts of the city, Kathmandu is the cultural, economic, and artistic nerve center of the country.

We had Arun Dev Pant from Design Cell, Debesh Raj Battharai from Creative Circle Consultants, and Poonam Shah from Shah Consultant International (P.) Ltd. as guest speakers on stage. Bikram Mittra, our general manager Industrial Design K&B India, rounded up the impressive presentations of our guests.
