Semi Permanent is a creative design platform that has been around for 14 years. The founders are crazy about design, so they organize live event experiences around the world. In fact, since they got started they have run events in 12 cities and six countries. The purpose of these events is to inspire people, give visitors a chance to take a peek at future design trends and tendencies and form new relationships with their peers and like-minded people.
The two-day symposium on 10-12 August 2017 in Auckland, New Zealand, at the Aotea Centre, a multi-purpose venue designed by Ewan Wainscott, features speakers from companies such as Uber, Airbnb and Facebook. There is probably no one better in today’s business environment to speak about change and disruption than these guys. In addition, speakers from the creative field open the doors to their arts and craft through their presentations and workshops. For example the acclaimed book designer Irma Boom, scent designer Sissel Tolaas and surfboard designers HaydenShapes. From Sissel, we will hear a lot more shortly. At the event, there will be art installations and a talk with Michael Parekowhai, New Zealand’s leading contemporary artist. The event will combine networking with new experiences, inspirations and experiments with water and light bringing aspects of world-class design to the community.
