We are rooting for the five winners who will take home amazing prizes at the first London Home Design Awards this July. Together with Bang & Olufsen, Topps Tiles, and Haestens, we are sponsoring the first-ever London Home Design Awards created by the Evening Standard Home and Property and Houzz. This creative ‘interiors makeover’ of an entire room or just part of a room or a corner in your small city apartment might just be the ticket for getting a lot of attention from the interior design community. Homeowners, renters have the opportunity to showcase their home renovation project in the categories kitchen, bathroom, living, bedroom, and garden with a wide audience. Upload a picture of your newly redone room on the Houzz website until 8 June 2018. A panel of judges – some of them quite well-known in the industry – will scrutinize all of the entries and submissions and create a shortlist until 18 June. The shortlisted project owners will then be contacted for further details and the race is on for the five winning positions. On that Monday the judges: Janice Marley of Home & Property, Victoria Harrison of Houzz, Barbara Chandler, the design journalist, moderator and judge Daniel Hopwood of The Great Interior Design Challenge, Richard MacRae of EDRM design studio, celebrity food writer Rachel Khoo, Mad about the House author Kate Watson-Smyth, 2LG design duo Jordan Cluroe and Russel Whitehead and founders of Mr & Mrs Smith hotels Tamara Lohan and the Balcony Gardener Isabelle Palmer will get together at Sketch in London to cast the final vote. In the meantime, the submitters can Instagram their projects and hashtag #homedesignawards for a chance to be featured on @houzzuk and @eshomesproperty. What’s all the fuzz, you ask? Well, you get a chance to win not only a shopping voucher for Bang & Olufsen products worth 500 UK pounds but also a 250 UK-pound voucher for Tom Dixon products. And…wait for it…you can attend a lamp-making workshop at The Factory in the new Tom Dixon flagship store. And of course, you can meet the illustrious judges and discuss your next projects. The winners in each category will be announced on 4 July 2018.
For the imagery in this post, we took inspiration from the recently Clerkenwell Design Week.
