We are just a few days short of the Milan Design Week 2019. It is probably the premier design event in Europe if not in the whole world. There is certainly plenty to see at the Milan Design Week 2019. Centered around the 58th edition of the Salone del Mobile at the Rho Fiera Milano fairgrounds outside the city, the trade and lifestyle fair offers something for everyone. The organizers also look to the past honoring Leonardo da Vinci who’s 500th anniversary of his death is this year. Exhibitions especially curated about his work and life in Milan at the fairgrounds and also in the city are at iconic locations such as Conca dell’Incoronata canal. The evocative installation showcases a glimpse of the master’s brilliance and his studies of water.
But what would be the past be without the future? The Milan Design Week 2019 gives room to young and emerging designers. At the fairgrounds, entire halls – Pavilion 22-24 – are dedicated to the youngsters and their ideas, creations, and designs. Under the theme ‘Food as a Design object’ visitors can expect to be in for a real treat.
The innovation and development of the industry are not limited to the fairgrounds. In fact, Milan Design Week 2019 literally transforms the entire city into a Design Destination par excellence. With more than 900 events at the Fuorisalone that is independently organized by studios, firms, companies, industry leaders and those who are aspiring to be, the choice is overwhelming.
