During the month of May 2017 visitors could admire the amazing San Francisco Decorator Showcase at the Italian Renaissance-inspired Classical Revival house at 2698 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco, USA. The architects Samuel and Sidney Newsom designed the building in 1904. It is a transition from the Victorian design to the Period Revival style.Luckily the breathtaking home of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Mack, the owners and prominent San Francisco family, was spared by the 1906 earthquake and subsequent fires. The house comprises eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It also features a ballroom, two libraries, four offices, a sitting room, a large formal dining room, a kitchen with separate butler’s pantry, seven fireplaces, and seven-car motor court.Recently the house was renovated without disturbing the historic character. It now includes radiant heating, double-paned windows, and a new kitchen. We were one of the five project sponsors: HouseBeautiful, Modern Luxury Interiors California, Modern Luxury Silicon Valley, and San Francisco Magazine. We partnered with San Francisco Decorator Showcase for the second year and provided products to seven interior designers.
San Francisco Decorator Showcase is considered the number one US West Coast showhouse event. Renowned interior and exterior designers from the region lent their talent to create an amazing show home. This year is special for the San Francisco Decorator’s Showcase, because it’s its 40th year celebration and thus, this is the 40th showcase. All proceeds from this program go towards the financial aid program of San Francisco University High School for Bay Area students’ support of college preparatory education. The event raises around USD 500,000 annually. For the past 40 years, more than 1,000 students have received aids.
