Eiair‘s sculpture talks: “Eilian is my name. I represent the process of re-functioning objects used in daily life. “Ei” is part of the name of my creator that is equal to the main culture, “lian” means “imitation” in Thai language. I was developed based on “Eilien”, a previous project which served as a reference. My body comprises of found objects that relate to new cultures and are effected by the identity of the main culture.”
The sculpture consists of ceramics (found objects), threads, nuts and bolts. The objects were found at markets, department stores, and even in the studios of other artists. The technique consists of cutting, drilling and breaking the pieces without destroying the original shapes. To make the sculpture whole it is hold together with screws and threads.
