In its fourth year, the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards 2018 was the most dashing affair yet. With more than 500 guests at the gala dinner on 22 June 2018, the awards were a hit and the most trusted recognition in the real estate and the construction industry. The shortlist for this year’s awards revealed that 26 companies had been shortlisted for 43 different categories covering the property market in Vietnam. The real estate market in Vietnam is booming. Since 2015, international buyers are able to purchase up to 30% of the condos in buildings and the overall economy is soaring and spurring the demand for new constructions. Foreign investors are predominately from South Korea, mainland China, and Hong Kong, and other places in Asia where property prices keep raising. The relatively undisturbed coastline and the historic cities of Vietnam lure potential buyers to the country. The real estate industry is preparing for the continuously increasing demand with new buildings going up quickly. During the gala dinner where we were platinum name sponsors and that was co-organized by Oriental Media and PropertyGuru, Thien Duong, managing director of Transform Architecture summarized the market situation as follows: ‘…there has never been another time in our history where the country is developing at such an accelerated pace.” Thien Duong who has shared his Global Design Trends with us acted for the third time as the chairman of the judges’ panel during the Vietnam Property Awards. This year new categories were introduced including recognition for Customer Care, Building Communities, and Public Facilities. Real estate developers, media, clients, and friends celebrated the revitalized property sector, high quality of construction and development as well as international-standard designs. For the second time, CapitaLand was the overall winner of the event taking home the title for Best Developer and 13 wins and three commendations. The atmosphere at the InterContinental Saigon Hotel ballroom was alight with the excitement of the industry players who see no slowdown in the market development as the middle class is constantly growing and is expected to reach 33 million by 2020. As name sponsor, we displayed in a product booth in the five-star hotel’s lobby enticing guests to have a look at the latest products including Sensis and San Raphael.
