We look back on two absolutely stunning events where we celebrated the six artists from Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Philippines. With the Vietnamese artist Nguyen Ngoc Lam in situ during both events, the owners, designers, architects, and journalists learnt more about our theme “Rooted in the past, looking into the future” and how these art pieces were created.
For the first time, we also ran a successful flower pattern contest reflecting Vietnamese culture, arts, craft, and tradition. The three winners were announced during the Bold. Art. event after having gone through an elimination process.
In the first round 10 patterns were selected and from these the three winning designs were chosen by Nguyen Ngoc Lam and Peter Oesch, Director Marketing Communications.
The contest gained quite a bit of public attention with over 100 entries from young Vietnamese artists from four universities and a lot of buzz on the social channels.
The patterns were applied to actual Conical Bell Lavatories that were displayed during the exhibition.
